GRABBITT

CHALLENGE

Ownitt Technologies, a startup based in Austin, Texas, came to us to help launch their first application, Grabbitt. Grabbitt gives customers instant access to products and information through geo-location and a few clicks on their mobile device. The app also provides vendors with a backend interface and detailed customer behavior data that is often hard to measure. We needed to create an flexible identity that is ownable within the increasing popular category. 

APPROACH

With any technology company we wanted to make sure the design system is simple, scalable and intuitive. Grabbitt’s core idea is acquisition, so we created a personified logotype where the “i” is grabbing the “tt”. This ligature and ownable naming device unifies all their future products. The iconography helps illustrate different types of acquisitions and also adds personality.

OUTCOME

Grabbitt is currently developing a API and has secured partnerships with retailers, cultural institutions and event spaces. Ownitt is expanding into other areas of consumer technology and will be launching two new applications in late 2016.  We’ve been working with Ownitt to establish a product ecosystem with the “itt” naming device.
