The EMM Group’s Wine Director, Peter Mastrogiovanni, reached out to us to create the identity, logo and inaugural label for his new wine venture Black Jack. We took a very reductive approach to the design by combining red and black with a modern typeface. Without wanting to use any playing card iconography, we simply called out the letters “A” and “J” to nod to a perfect blackjack hand. We also flipped “Jack” upside down to reference the classic playing card design.
